My milk confetti syngonium kept getting a yellow leaf every few days. I checked out the roots yesterday and it’s possible there was a bit of root rot. I haven’t had it for very long. I decided to do an experiment and repotted in all leca. I cleaned the roots and cut off any questionable ones first. I’m curious how it will do. Has anyone tried all leca for a syngonium? If it starts to fade I’ll put it back in a chunky mix.
Yes, I have two in semi-hydro (LECA) that I cut from my original syngonium when I thought it was dying! They are perfectly happy and I actually think they're particularly well-suited to it. I have one in a different semi-hydro medium, another type of clay ball but not light like LECA, that is also doing fine. It's not as happy as the ones in LECA but it's putting out a new leaf right now so it certainly isn't losing any battles yet.

I transitioned two of mine into leca basically for the same reasons you mentioned They seem to be doing fine. Adjusting the "depth" that they sit into the leca was a little tricky. My first one sat a little too high and almost dried out, but moved it down and now is doing great. New leaves on both.
I have all my indoor syngoniums in LECA as well in self watering pots and they are all happy in that environment
