Hi all! I got this arrowhead around 2 years ago. It came in a water globe and seemed happy so I just kept it in there, it’s never had major health issues. And has a plantlet now. Is there a limit to how long it will stay healthy in water? It’s small for its age but I have 20+ plants so I don’t mind it staying small as long as it’s healthy. Should I move it to soil? Is the root system too far along for me to transplant it into soil? As you can see it has CRAZY long roots now (probably around 2 feet). *I took the photos right before a water change so excuse the mucky water lol Thanks for the tips! (P.S. Is it strawberries and cream like Planta says?)

    Looks healthy to me. You can leave it in water indefinitely and it’ll do its thing. It grows to the size of what the roots allow. So if you want it to stay small but healthy, then trim the roots and put it back in the water. If you’d rather put it in dirt, go for it. There’s no such thing as ‘too far along’ to transition from acqua to dirt, stronger roots are better— but any plant it’s going to stall for a bit to readjustment and grow out dirt roots after being in water for so long. No biggie— just setting expectations. Either way you go though the plant will be fine.

    Transitioning to leca would probably be a good choice because you already have the water roots. And probably see a lot more growth. Just make sure you are using a non organic fertilizer that is suitable for leca, or water.

      What’s your opinion on leca versus PON, Phil? TIA! PS. I have used PON for my plants rather than leca, but that was just by pure happenstance!

      And I have never used Pon. So can’t compare. People have said it’s a lot more expensive and much smaller. And already has the nutrients. I have several plants in leca. Some do well and others not as well.

    I’ve had mine about a year. I moved it to a clear vase. It was also originally in the same vessel as yours.
