Please could someone help me? These are my Alaskan Shasta Daisies gifted to me by my mother in law. One of them (grey plastic pot) is doing amazing! But the other (blue ceramic pot) is struggling. Some of the leaves are turning brown and dry. And some are breaking off so easily. I think I have removed no less than 5-6 leaves of this plant in the last two weeks. At first, I thought the issue was underwater because one day the soil felt too dry so I watered it deeply. It seem to do better for a day, but then was still struggling a lot. I then thought that the issue might be too much light (since it is directly in front of the window all day and grow lights are on for 3 hours at night) so I turned off my grow lights. But it’s still not doing good after a couple days. The reason I was using the grow light in addition to the sun from outside is that the amount of light we get from our SouthWest facing window it’s not always consistent this time of year. Please, I would appreciate any advice anyone could offer. 🙏💕 I’m in Zone 7a, Lexington KY.

    It does look dry. The blue pot looks a bit large. If it was just planted outside in the garden, where I’ve grown Shasta Daisies, then, I would water a couple of times a week until the roots get established. This is because the water gets wicked away to the surrounding and can dry out faster in the elements. Something similar can happen if the pot is too big and watering is too little. I’m just guessing this could be one cause of dryness since I’m not sure how you water. These plants prefer full sun all day. They can tolerate partial sun. Insufficient light typically shows up with pale colors, yellow dropped leaves and lanky growth. Your plants don’t show these symptoms. I don’t think it’s a lighting issue.

    Thank you so much Sunny! I’ll try that. I’ve been afraid of overwatering so I’ve only watered it deeply a handful times since I got it. How much would you suggest I water? And would bottom watering or top watering be best?
