   hi there!! kalanchoes are naturally triggered to flower in winter by shorter day lengths. If you have your plant under a grow light, you might be able to convince them to flower by turning the lights on for less time each day, or by buying a timer you plug your grow light into and programming it to turn off earlier each day! i have heard that some people actually stimulate them to flower by placing them in a dark closet- this seems a little extreme to me, but perhaps it works! whatever method you choose, you'll need to start a few months before flowers are desired because it takes some time for the plants to prepare! hope this helps!

     Simulating longer nights is the same process used to get Christmas cactus to flower. The plant has to be in total darkness for 12 hours to 14 hours each night for at least six weeks. They still need bright indirect light in the day. Total darkness means total darkness. This puts the plant in dormancy along with cool temperatures of about 55°F. Room lights on the plant during the night starts the 6 weeks process over. They also need less water during this six week period. Hopefully, flower buds form once the period ends.

   When I read up on them, it said most kolanchoe plants only bloom once. I actually just started over with a new one
