Hello plant friends. I'm having a propagation issue and I'm hoping someone (or multiple someones) can help. About 5 weeks ago I received these two Maranta cuttings. They spent a week in leca but, not knowing anything about leca and seeing a lot of people suggest water, I moved them to water. I have lowered the water level slightly from the picture. The stem with one leaf developed the start of one root almost 2 weeks ago and it hasn't changed much, it looks like it may be starting another root on the other side. The one with two leaves isn't rooting at all and almost seems to be starting to rot. They are in reverse osmosis water and they had a bit of Super Thrive one water change ago. Today I read they like humidity to propagate and I do have this teeny greenhouse that I could put it into. Currently, there's a heat mat under the greenhouse because I'm starting moringa seeds. I still have that leca available and I have sphagnum as well. Which would be the best changes for me to make to get this leafy friend rooting? Thank you so much for reading this eternal paragraph, my phone is only treating the return/enter button as enter. And thank you in advance for your help.

Hi 🌱 friends, I’ve had this rubber plant in my bathroom for about two weeks now and haven’t seen much growth. I keep the window open most of the day and it gets direct sunlight. I’ve only watered once last week since I got it and it’s still in the nursery pot. I’m just curious as to why the spike on the top left side has remained the same in the two weeks since I’ve had it. Am I doing something wrong or is this normal?

I have 2 snake plant leaves from my grandma in water. She told me this is how to propagate them. Is this correct? They have been in water for 2-3 weeks, and I’m not seeing any roots, only discoloration and brown spots.

Should this be propagated in water? Monstera Variegeta cutting, I estimate ~ 8 inches in length. Taken from a much larger plant that lives outside on my oak tree.

Heyy guys so I got this heart leaf pothos and golden pothos I’m trying to propagate along with and elephant bush I think I’m doing well with keeping clean purified water and I have a grow light on them because I don’t know if they are getting the right lighting I open my blinds during the day and the sun sets in the direction my window is facing so they don’t get any harsh sun I’ll add a picture of the window and if anyone knows if they are too close or in the wrong area of the window please let me know. My elephant bush propagations I just started today but I have never propagated a succulent let alone anything so some tips would be greatly appreciated thank you. P.S- please ignore the mess on my desk it’s my plant desk it just gets crowded

Hi, I started growing a few jalapeños about a month ago, how often should I water and fertilize them? Planta is saying every 3 days, but I’m not sure on that. So far I’ve been watering them when the soil gets dry.

I have this dieffenbachia I’ve had for a long time. Spider mites got him and it dropped a lot of bottom leaves. I want to propagate him. I want to get rid of all the long stems so the plant looks healthy again. Can I cut the stems, use root stimulater and set in water to root? Has anyone had luck with one?

I am pleasantly surprised that I grew all of these plants from seed (with the help of moon magic)! The hardest part about sowing seeds is the algae. I use cinnamon powder to keep the green at bay, but honestly, it’s the fungus gnats that chap my thumb. Cannot wait for some mosquito bits to arrive as making a tea of these beneficial nematodes is the only solution I found that works for gnat attacks. I would show the homegrown babies, but Planta directed me to their doppelgänger app: Hampa.

I got a snake plant cutting on April 5th and I put it into water with hydrogen peroxide and fertilizer to propagate. How long does it usually take for a snake plant cutting to grow roots? Would it be better to try and grow it in soil instead? I'm new to snake plants.

I’m new to plants, been trying my best with this pothos cutting I got on February 19th. I’ve been trying my best, cleaning out the water often, giving it lots of sunlight and just curious if this progress is normal considering it’s been 2 months.

I truly don’t know what to do with this plant. Anytime I put it in soil, it suffers and it thrives in water but it looks like the roots are searching for soil. Any advice is appreciated

Had an emergency today when i woke up to a yellow leaf! She was a propogate, so i really panicked and took her out of the moss- and she completely detached from the node and her roots! Luckily i had a second propagate which was doing fine and i repotted in a smaller container. The leaf was put in the propogate jar, and just maybe she might make it through, ive had shoots off non-nodes before, but im not super hopeful since shes already yellow and has no roots to take in nutrients. But, has this ever happened to anyone else before? She just popped right off! Is it because the soil medium is too damp? The whole node turned brown, but it did have two new shoots. Did the whole node die off from overworking? All of the propagates i bought had been cut like this, just one node.

My Alaskan grow room. Growing season here on the Kenai Peninsula is June 20-August 24. I grow more indoors than out. Some DIY with pallets and planters is next on the list.

This Heart-leaf Philo is out of control.. again! My thoughts are to make several cuttings and put them all into a wider pot with the same kind of soil. None of the nodes are growing into the moss pole just propped up by pins. However, my second thought was to get different and taller moss poles to try to encourage it growing on the newer ones instead. (Because it worked so well the last time 🤡) What are everyone else’s thoughts on what I should do next with this beast?

Not sure what variety the bigger tradescantia is but I found it on the ground at Lowe’s and couldn’t wait to chop and prop it in water. I was only able to make two cuttings and it looks like they’re both surviving and one is even pushing out a new growth point .
