I have two questions! 1) I have this tiny bamboo plant that has been in water since probably beginning of October and I haven’t seen any progress. I would like it in a pot eventually and to grow more. What’s the best way to do so? 2) These are the roots on my silver inch plant that I’m propagating. When will it be ready to put in the soil and what’s the best way to do that? I’ve seen people just go directly from water to soil but I’ve also heard that it can send the plant into shock and to slowly add soil to the water it’s propagating in. I’m new to propagating and my mother in law brought a lot of cuttings down for me and I don’t want to kill them!

I just bought a new grow lamp and I put cuttings of a tradescantia. It’s been four days and it already has little baby roots!!!!

If you use a propagation box how do you ensure the propagations are getting adequate light? I see many examples on like of prop boxes in plastic tubs with moss or other medium but once the lid is on it seems too thick for any good light to penetrate. I do a lot of propagations that are spread out in my house for maximum light and don’t quite understand how in a prop box they are getting enough light. I understand for the humidity it is good but I’m missing something I think.

I am really unsure how to look after this young guy, he was a trimming from a Ficus I have in a terrarium, roots were a bit longer than this when i potted him, would really love for flourish. Any tips on what i need to do?

There’s probably a better group to put this in but you guys are probably constantly adding plants to planta. Is there a trick to getting your plant to have the picture you took as the cover photo? I keep getting the stock picture instead, even though it prompts me, asking if I want to use the picture as the cover photo.

Not sure what I did wrong. I let them all callous over for about five days. After I potted them up, I didn’t give them any water for a few days. Then just a little from the bottom. But this is what they all look like. Is there a chance or should I just toss them?

Any tips about potting propagated Pothos? I’m thinking about potting one of mine soon but I’m worried about shock or any other problems that might come up 😬 Thanks in advance 🙂

Hi, so this is my first time propagating pothos and I’m not sure if this is normal or if I’ve done something wrong? The base seems to be rotting and I’m not sure why? I’ve only really propagated monsteras before so any advice in pothos propagating would be so helpful!

Should i chop and prop or should I leave her the way she is? She is potted with a mass cane/corn plant. I want to have her trailing but I can’t have her hanging from my ceiling. I’d repot but every time I’ve reported a plant they end up declining :(

Does anyone know how to propagate properly from a velvet leaf philodendron as mine is looking a little thin on the ends and I’d like to cut it down!

My monstera cuttings have been in water for a month and the roots are very slow to emerge. Is this normal?

Could someone tell me the best way to propagate this please? Do I just snip off the ends?

I’ve been leaving these corms in my alocasia black velvet to do their thing in the main pot, but should I actually separate them? Will they grow better if I give them the hothouse treatment? Thinking I should put them in sphagnum moss or similar and cover them with clingfilm.

New raindrop peperomia pups making their way out of my leaf propagations. I even found one growing out of a crack in one of the leaves! 😱
