Question time!! When propagating, do you put anything additional in the water to help its growth? just spitballing here, like rice water or sugar or whatever… not that I know of any of those would work? I have an avocado seed that refuses to sprout and other plants that just aren’t rooting at all…

Hi! My fiancés grandma has a massive umbrella tree 10 plus ft I have asked her if I can have a clipping of it to try my hand at propagating. I’m just wondering after a few videos of any of you had any tips?!

3 pothos, 3 monstera, and 2 hydrangeas cuttings all growing strong new root systems😌(There’s one monstera that has a bit of brown on her, it was touch and go but she’s better now)

Are those little round husky looking balls the “corms” I’ve heard some plants have? If so, can someone please describe how I use/plant these to grow more Kentia Palm? Thanks in advance!

Good Morning, I had a question concerning propagating my African Violet - what did I do wrong? I put this leaf in here months ago but there aren’t any additional leaves coming up - the leaf just keeps getting bigger. Do I need to trim the bottom of the leaf and cover that with dirt? I’ve done this correctly before. Now when I do it, they die except for this last time. TIA

Does anyone know what the best way to propagate a marble baby rubber plant is? I am trying to rescue the rest of the plant after its base started to rot. Any help is appreciated!

Hey everyone! So I’m seeing the leaves of my plant starting to get droopy and yellow in the middle. And I think the new bottom leaves are sucking all it nutrients. Do you think it’s time to propagate my plant? And if so how? By cutting the tall 3 stems in half and propagate that? This will be my first time propagating anything, so any help is appreciated:) Thank you!

Does anyone have recommendations for how to remove a pup from a Bromeliad? When is the right time to do it and what do you do with it once it’s been removed (plant it directly in soil?)?

I need advice on what is the best way to propagate a philodendron micans

Christian

Hey guys, still fairly new to gardening on a more serious level since I’m now a homeowner. My couple people let me get clippings from their hydrangeas to propagate. I did it the way I researched with rooting hormone but now my question is what would be the best way to get indirect sunlight on them? Right now I have them on my porch in a DIY mini greenhouse but I’m thinking about ordering a legit small greenhouse. What would be the best cover option or best way to do this?

You know those plant kits at your local craft store? I bought some just to see and they included a eucalyptus and a philodendron plant kit. I was shocked to wake up and see a little baby plant in the eucalyptus pot!!!

Is it ok to combine string of hearts plants? I want to make one fuller plant I have 4 at the moment as I tried propagating a few ways. First free photos are from the same mother plant and all grown from seed pods however the last plant is the oldest one and I propagated it from a different plant so not sure if that one should go with the others ??? Any one tried

Just got a string of dolphins cutting. The cutting included the stem section where the node was attached. I cut at the node and put it in water, did I do this correctly?

Any tips on propagating a Hoya linearis?? I’m one who loves water propping so I was thinking going that route— but I’ve seen people have success with just chopping & putting it back in the soil.

Proplifted a bunch of cuttings from my friend’s plants (with permission of course 😉) and let them callous and now in water! This is my first go at water propping so any advice is welcome and appreciated! Most of them are Hoyas (the left has a monsters peru and a dragon tail rhaphidaphora that I have had in water for awhile now). I’m relatively new to collecting and love Hoyas so I would really like to see these guys root! Oh, I also heard that putting a cutting of pothos in can help, so each bunch has a pothos cutting.

For propagating succulents, does the parent leaf fall off by itself or are you supposed to pluck it off at some point? Thanks!

Plantie friends! I need some advice, I just got this cutting last night. I believe it’s a Shell Ginger. Should I place it in water or perlite to grow roots? 🪴🫶🏽

My Ficus Tineke hasn’t been healthy in a while so I took a risk and am going to try to propagate. Here is the before and after. Any suggestions?
