I have been propagating mint and I noticed these little shoots growing. They are attached to the main stem and when I transferred from water to soil, they got slightly buried underneath the soil. I didn’t think they would continue to grow but here they are!! I wanted to ask if these look like runners or new branches that will eventually produce leaves? They also have lil hairs (roots?) that the main stem does not. If they are runners, is it worthwhile to keep them or should I trim them off?

hi again! my grandma recently passed, and i was given some cuttings from her 100+ year old christmas cactus as a memento. i received them wednesday and i believe they have calloused over at this point. is there anything else i need to do for the time being? should i water them? or just leave them in the soil?

Hi! I am new to propogating and am trying to propogate a persian shield. I've heard that they don't really do well with water propogation- has anyone successfully done that? Also all the videos I've seen of propogating them, they have used rooting hormone(?) before sticking it in a pot- is the rooting stuff absolutely necessary or can it be propogated without? Thank you!

Hi everyone, does anyone have any suggestions on what I should with these bits of divided up snake plant? It was long neglected and therefore quite leggy with crumbled roots. Will they be ok if I just cut off the skinny leaves and then pop it in soil?

I've been volunteering at a local café with SO MANY PLANTS!! I got some cuttings the other day because I was helping her thin out some of her big plants. There's a monstera, Swiss cheese plant, a couple of pothos (I think?) and some others I just tossed in water to root. So excited!

Guess it pays to use a pothos cuttings to help root plants!!!! Just in 2 weeks these grew!!!

I recently cut up a very leggy small monstera and have been trying to propagate the stem cuttings. I started them with moss in a closed container but ran into rot and mold, I then tried the same thing with perlite but ran into the same problem. I dried out the cuttings each time but it didn’t seem to make a difference. I now have them in open containers with the perlite and they’ve been fine for the last day or two but I’m hoping there’s a better way since this is getting a little high maintenance. I’d appreciate any advice!

Decided to try propagating my Money Tree. Took 2 cuttings & put in same vase. The left picture cutting progressing nicely, the one on the right developed this white cheesy gunk. Mold? I wiped it off just to see what was underneath & found it has roots pushing. So I treated it with hydrogen peroxide, cleaned vase, added fresh water and back they go onto shelf. Curious to see what happens next.

I went to my local nursery and got a monstera Peru but on my way out was stopped and asked if I would like this cutting to go with it (for free lol) and so of course I said yes! What rooting solutions do you use? I e only ever just used water and so far have had luck but interested in other ideas ᵕ̈

I made a cutting of my monstera a few months ago. It’s still in water but I’m so surprised I’m getting a new leaf!!! 🙌

Been propagating this variegated baby Sun rose for about a month now on a full sun windowsill. She hasn’t grown much, but developed some roots, and then today I woke up to find she bloomed a flower! 🌺 I just want to make sure it’s not due to stress and it’s purely because she’s happy :) I’ve never had a flowering propagation before!

Wondering if anyone has any tips for planting propogated string of hearts vines and having them actually take - I find that 50% of the ones I plant just shrivel up even though they have good roots on them

My current propagations ❤️ 2 different kinds of pothos, golden child ivy, and Tradescantia! I’ve never done ivy before though, does anyone have tips? Does it prop like other plants? They have these tiny tiny root looking things on one of the stems!

My watermelon dischidia is growing very well this summer! I want to propagate some of it so I can have her in other parts of the house as well. I’ve never propagated a plant before, so I don’t want to mess it up. Any help would be amazing and greatly appreciated!!!

Was reading up on pruning my new lemon tree. I purchased one that apparently has this “sucker” at the base that should be trimmed off. Can I prop it? And, if so, water or soil?

Hi there, I rescued this money tree for three dollars and three leaves on him at the end of the season a year ago. His name is Negan. I repotted him and watered sparingly he’s in a chunky soil but now you can see he’s very full and he’s about 3 feet tall and thriving. Any ideas on how I can propagate him and how to braid his branches would be greatly appreciated 🥰🥰
