My plant has a baby plant! I am trying to separate it so their roots do not become too entangled. Should I cut the root it’s connected to and place in water? Or cut and place in soil. Or something else 😊 Thanks for your help!

I’m trying to grow a spruce and I’m worried that the little sprout is dying, but I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. I have him growing next to a window facing north, with a grow light. I’ve been misting him when I water. He’s in an Airpot. I can give more details if requested.

Hello! I repotted my FLF about a month ago and she’s been growing like crazy. I’d really like her to branch, though. I’m having a hard time figuring out where to chop since the leaves are quite bunched together at the top. Any advice?

Hi! I have a philendron ring of fire and it’s growing well. I noticed this happening on one area (pic 2) and I’m wondering if this section needs to be propagated or if I should just leave it alone?

Hi all! I attempted to propagate our red robin hedges a few months ago and they didn’t end up going so well. I just took a few cuttings of the newer growth and put them in water under a grow light. I have absolutely no idea if you can even propagate them this way but I thought I’d give it a go. They lasted for about 8 weeks looking super healthy (I changed the water weekly and fertilised every few weeks) and then they got droopy and died. Does anyone have any tips on propagating these, or any sort of hedges or fruit trees as we would like to have a few more on our property and I thought it would be fun to propagate them instead of buying them. Thanks!!

Do these roots like right? Been growing this pothos for almost a month and these are the roots. I’m not sure if they are healthy, and I’m unsure exactly how far the roots should be before planting. Any advice? ☺️

Any tips on propagating a bat plant? My mother has a gorgeous bat plant and last week I took a few clippings. It’s been about a week a couple of the clippings seem to be wilting.

Hi propagation friends! I just “borrowed” this cactus from a cactus on my complex’s property. She had many tens of arms to share normally, when I propagate a cactus in soil, I cut where I put the yellow arrow on the picture. But I just want to make sure you don’t think I should plant where it broke off, with a little piece of the previous top? Also, can I de-thorn it so I can pet her later, or will it kill her? I know that’s strange but I like her rubbery fake “thorns” and wish to pet them if I can remove or trim down the very sharp white real thorns if it doesn’t hurt her. Thanks!

Are there any herbs, readily available in the produce section, that might be coaxed to grow? I don’t like to buy fresh herbs in clamshells but I have to. That’s my first reason for starting to grow plants. This year, I’m going to be ready for fall and holiday cooking. This is Basil. He was saved from becoming white bean salad. He was a living plant though, wrapped in a cloth, not a clamshell.

Propagating this one and sooo excited, but it’s been 4 weeks and no changes but the leaves still look healthy! Am I being inpatient or should I adjust anything? I change the water every week and we also have a grow light that’s overhead in the middle of the room and it’s on about 6-9 ish hours a day.

Been propagating this guy for 4 weeks! I’m jumping the gun because it feels like I’ve had him for months until reality set in when I went to write this post … but when is the root big enough to plant?! Also is the growth as far as long as you would expect for 4 weeks? If not, this is my setup any suggestions?
