I’m working on propagating this cactus and I’m terrified I didn’t let it sit out long enough … I put it in similar soil that the mother plant was in (it was outdoors in the east coast) 🤞🏻

@Anya inspired me to go to work on Kicks, now he has a little family 😆
when are you supposed to start watering cuttings that are planted with rooting hormone?
So I am skeptical on the potential with this combo, but my Green Princess Philo needed repotted, so I cut off 2 pups. One went in water since it had the tiniest root. The other went in a self watering bottle. I know philos like to dry out between waterings, so I am not sure how she will like the self-watering bottle… we shall see! The teal pot is the mama plant ☺️
Hi!! Update on my string of pearls propagations!! They have grown roots! Well a few of them! No signs of new growth on the pearls but at least the cuttings have gotten somewhere!
My secret to not get stuck when repotting cactus. Make a plant ice cream cone by gently pouring the plant out into another pot. That is all.
am i the only who sometimes feel guilty proplifting? there was a huge handful of string of pearls on the floor and i picked it up, shoved it in my pockets and 2 seconds later i took them out and put them back 😂😭 did take one string although! just felt like everyone was watching me
So I am using perlite in a jar to propagate my cuttings. How and when do I water bc it will just sit in the bottom of the glass even though they have roots.
My weeping fig grew so many roots!! Time to put it in some soil 🪴 ◡̈
Completely new to gardening and wanted to start with Lemongrass, a little stressed about the seeds cause i’ve never done this before, but I hope they come through 💗 Tips and advice are always welcome. I started in the tray covered because that was what was recommended to keep the humidity and heat in, although it’s always like that here
First time attempting to propagate hoping this goes well!
Update on the cactus babies! Around seven have sprouted I think. It’s difficult to tell when they’re brand new if it’s a speck of dirt or actually the beginnings of a cactus 😆
Wanting to chop and prop my Batwing Begonia anyone have experience with these hard stem begonias. I’ve read that it will make it bushier, but I’m scared! She’s my favorite!
i’m propagating a bromeliad pup! the mother plant has always been on the verge of death, but in the middle of awful root rot produced this little guy! i took it from the mother plant and i’m trying to propagate it. the mother bromeliad was the first plant i ever bought, so i’m hoping the pup pulls through :)
I want a few leaves from my jade plant to propagate in another pot (none have fallen off for a while) but the bottom 4 big ones are dropping a lot. Could I pull or cut them off ? Or should I just wait?
Save your wine bottles!!! Dark, tall bottles provide a great propagation container. They protect the roots from the sun and also allow for the roots to grow down.
Hi! Does anyone have experience with crape myrtles? I planted mine as a tiny cutting (like an inch tall) and it rooted and was growing great until recently when it just stopped. And then it started wilting and dropping its lower leaves. I repotted it thinking that might be the problem but I haven’t seen and improvement. It stopped growing a little while after I moved and it’s getting less sun then it was, could that be the problem?
These little cuties are coming right along ❤️
update on my cucumbers!! i’ve been growing them in their separate containers for about a week and a half now, and the one in water is growing much faster than the ones in the dirt. but overall they are doing pretty well! i’m very excited! they smell good too
Has anyone succeeded in using the notching method to promote branch growth on their rubber tree? And if so, how long till you started to see any signs that it worked?
