I’ve been trying to propagate my giant stick cactus for ages without any luck - but I just checked these cuttings I’ve had in water for about a week and I’ve finally got some roots!! So excited. This is what I learned from my failures: must take cutting from a part of the plant that’s actively growing, ideally from the top of the primary stem. Let the cutting callus over for a week before putting in rooting medium. I did not have any luck putting the cuttings in soil to root despite letting them callous and using rooting hormone (3 months no roots). The roots line to be in the shade, so a prop cone or something is helpful (pretty sure this is true for most plants). This particular plant is apparently very slow to root, so I’m surprised to see roots after only a week - it seems like water is the best medium for me, but I’m no expert, this is just what I learned from failing! 😬

I have this thriving Hawaiian spider plant, but do you think it’s best to clip (and propagate) all of the bigger babies from the mama or do you think it’s okay to leave them? I don’t want the little babies to steal all of the nutrients, but it seems to be happy as it is 🤷♀️

Trimmed the money tree, hoping I trimmed it correctly. Hoping this takes.

This was my first attempt at propagating a snake plant. But it’s been almost 3 months without anything happening. Isn’t that longer than it’s supposed to take? 🤔
I switch the water once a week and have wiped off any slime jic. Any suggestions?
lo
how long do it’s roots need to be before it can be potted?

Question. I would love for this to grow more bushy, should I do the pinch technique here at the top or prune? Or is this a leaf? Sorry for the ignorance, very new plant mom here. I also hear that you can make notches near the nodes…HELP!

Hi so this is my first time propagating or even caring for aloe for that matter. My parents aloe plant had SOO many pups so I decided to propagate them. My dad watered them again without realizing I already watered them the day before🙄 im super worried they are forming root rot now. (I know nothing about root rot) but I just want them to propagate properly haha. Any advice on how to care for them/what to do would be appreciated!

Hello! Had this big boy for about 3 months, and it’s probably a year, and I am planning to prologate it. It’s still in the nursery pot, and I want another Sword Fern, but I don’t have a bigger pot, and I don’t know exactly where to put the propagated fern. Help appreciated!

Hey guys, how do I put this in the soil? Do I bury the new leaves with the roots? I’m so lost!

So happy with my golden pothos props! The rest of the plant died (overwatering) but I was able to save these guys.

How long time does it take for these to get roots? I’ve had this cutie In water for two years now 🙈 shall I give up?

I’ve been having really great luck with my propagation set up! I got these grow lights and green house on Amazon for cheap, and hooked them both up with an IKEA cart I’ve had for ages. I have the lights on a 12/12 timer. Inside the greenhouse I have a heating pad set to 80 degrees (it was my cats heating pad, nothing fancy) with a half cookie sheet on top of it filled with rocks and water. It gets nice and humid in there but it’s not airtight. So far I’ve rooted string of hearts, Hoya, draecana, night blooming cereus, alocasia and Chinese money plant. Roots have been developing super quickly! Like…within a week for most of them.

First time propagating alocasia corms - when should I pot them in soil? I rooted them in vermiculite and perlite and the roots seems nicely developed, and they’ve started to push out some foliage! I don’t want to shock them too soon but they definitely need to get into a vessel with drainage. Anyone know when the right time to plant them is?

Any help for me and my little 🌱 friend

Help.
My pothos plant cutting’s leaves are growing but no roots. I’m thinking of the water is too cold.

I had to prune back my Pelargonium so I made some cuttings! 👏
The key with succeeding with these cuttings is to remove most of the leaves and not have a too big cutting. Showing how much I remove from the cutting in the photos here 🥰
Let’s root for these to grow 🌱
