I have a bunch of cuttings (species listed below) that are fully rooted and ready to be transferred to soil. How should i transfer them to soil?? I saw something saying to add soil to the water they are in right now, is that true? Please drop some good methods in comments!! (two jade pothos, one snow queen pothos with a lot of roots, and two pilea mollis) (Roots are at least 5 inches each)

I haven’t heard that before, interesting. You should just be able to pot them in soil and then water thoroughly (in a pot with drainage). Just taking them out of the water and putting into a pot with a bit of soil into it and then filling in. Pot not super large compared to roots but big enough to leave some room to grow!

Yes, tape up the holes on a pot, put it in a cache pot just in case. And then you can just add a few spoonfuls of soil every day till it's full. Then remove the tape and let the water drain out. And keep it a bit more moist than normal for about a week. It makes them transition easier. Especially for finicky plants

I've never tried that method but it sounds interesting. My advice is to research and make your own soil mix. Avoid the typical store bought stuff. It's better for your plant and you feel accomplished when you do it yourself. I love Pothos and have tried a lot of mixes in the past but I've landed on the following. 2 parts potting soil (fox farm ocean forest), 1 part coco coir, 1 part perlite, 1/2 part orchid bark, you can optionally add 1/2 part horticultural charcoal and 1/2 part worm castings. The charcoal helps filter impurities and aid in drainage and the worm castings add some nice nutrition for the babies. I always dampen the soil before using it, it helps situate the plant when potting! Feel free to add updates once they get going or ask any further question's!!

If they have roots growing out of their roots, they are mature enough to have a fighting chance! Good luck.
