So I recently got a bunch of cuttings and need to root them. I decided to make a prop box with sphagnum moss and perlite for most of them but kept the pictum and a piece of the baltic blue pothos in water. I need all the tips for prop boxes and propagation! I also coated the roots in a rooting hormone for the ones I put in the box. I’m just so nervous that they won’t root for some reason since I’ve always rooted in water lol! p.s. the prop box is on my patio (not in direct sun) bc it is very warm and humid outside right now

I propagate in sphagnum as well and find the plants love it. There’s also less transplant shock for them when you pot them up The only downside is that the moss can dry out quickly. Does the bin have a lid? If not, you might have to check on the moss every day, especially since it’s outside. You could also try putting saran wrap over it to hold in moisture. I just spray mine to keep it moist but not soggy

it does have a lid! but thank you I’ll keep spraying because it has been drying out kind of fast

No problem! You can add more moss if it’s drying out too quickly. You don’t have to worry as much about root rot with moss because it’s so airy
