For about a month I’ve been propagating my alocasia frydek corms and it’s looking great! So much growth, especially these last few days, the stems are getting close to the top. Anyone can help out…. how long should I let the roots be before I put it in soil? Or is there another/better technique to let this grow?
May I ask what are you propagating in? Also, rule of thumb for my own is I wait for at least 1 hardened leaf before repot(more if I can but my vessels usually end up too small) So if you are running out of space I would personally maybe put an inverted clear cup on top or you could risk one and see how it does transfer wise. I usually start mine in fluvial/perlite mix or straight in soil so there isn’t much transplant shock as long as I keep the humidity the same. Good luck
0개 좋아요 it’s propagating just in water, i haven’t felt if the leaf is hardened yet. I was planning on transferring to a little bit bigger of a cup than this shot mason glass lol. do you wait for the roots to grow a little bit more? Idk if my photo does justice to see how long the roots are
좋아요 1개 If they are just in water, then you would have no issue putting in a bigger vessel with water as it would not make any difference in terms of shock. (As long heat and light are kept the same) I thought you meant transferring them in a different medium. And judging but your picture, the leaves would not have hardened as they need to open up first and then it hardens. And I asked because it looked like agar for some reason so I thought you were doing tissue culture.
