how do u propagate a zee zee plant :)

    There are different ways to propagate a zz plant. One a stem cutting cutting at the base of the stem at a diagonal with clear shears. I just learned about doing this with the expanded clay. Helps them transition to soil better. You can do a leaf propagation as well. This is a slower process and not as successful but fulfilling if it takes. Cut as close to the stalk as possible again with clean sanitized shears. They also recommend doing more than one cutting. This methods can be propagated soil. If you are getting new shoots, then you can propagate and in the process repot. When you carefully remove it from the pot I make sure I remove all the old soil. I like to rinse mine off (also I wear gloves when handling zz plants the sap is poisonous) because fertilizer can build up on the roots. Divide the rhizomes to the size plants you want and repot each. It is best to wait until it’s time to water them and wait until they are repotted.

    I just started a propagation of one by cutting diagonally as close to the base as possible and plopping it in water ! I’ve heard it takes a few weeks to grow roots and then can be transitioned to a pot!

      Don't be surprised if it takes longer than a few weeks. Mine have always taken several months.
