Hello, I’m new to propagation (and Planta) and trying a few different methods I’ve seen online. One I came across is using a poly bag, roughly 3”x12” size, fill the bottom with soil, add a single cutting and seal the top of the bag to keep it humid. Anyone tried this and have any tips? I assume still need to water from time to time and mist cutting, but how regularly?

I definitely propagate plants in plastic ziplock bags. Some people have very pretty propagations setups, but mine looks like a recycling bin that’s been taken over by plants 🤣 I find the bags work plenty well. Also things like take-out containers. Well washed of course I prefer to leave an opening in the bag for airflow. Sometimes completely closed bags grow mold in my experience, but that also depends on if the cuttings are healthy or starting to rot. In terms of watering and misting, they’ll stay moist for quite some time compared to a potted plant. It’s also important not to have too much water in the bag so that the soil isn’t sopping wet. In fact, misting AS your watering method is a good way to water small amounts of soil since you can go little by little
