i like to propagate AV cuttings in water. i like to use one of the biggest leaves/stalks and just make sure to change the water every couple days. i use a shot glass and top off the water every day since it evaporates so fast. as soon as i start to see good roots, i usually put it in soil right away

I always take a big healthy leaf, dip it in rooting hormone and plant directly in soil, I keep it moist until I see growth.

I didn’t have any luck propagating in water so I tried directly in soil. I used clean scissors to cut the leaf at a 45 degree angle then dipped in rooting hormone. Then I stuck the cut into some soil inside a clear topped container to create a mini greenhouse. I’ve had two successful leaves so far! It takes between 9-11 weeks to see good roots.

My AV after 3 mths. doing same as Jen suggested above. The leaf stayed firm, healthy and grew a bit before the new leaves appeared. I water from below in AV pot
