Just to be clear, I have NEVER propagated (successfully) before. I have been trying to propagate my pothos for a hot minute now and just seem to have zero luck with progress. I am also worried I’m just slowly killing it 🧍‍♀️ SOS

    Have you been changing the water? Pothos release their own rooting hormone, so avoid refreshing the water if you can! Otherwise, I have no idea 😖

      I only recently learned this from someone else on planta! Apparently, we can even add pothos to other propagation attempts and they’ll benefit from the routing hormones as well, that’s how I got my monstera adonsonii to finally root!!

    Personally I would separate the cutting into two. You seem to have a bit of rot on one stem that may improve by not having it soak in water. I’d clean that off gently. You can add about a 1/4 tsp of food grade hydrogen peroxide to bring oxygenation into the water to tackle rot. (1/4 tsp based on the size of your container.)

      Completely agree. It looks like some of the stem is rotting. This can lead to bacteria in the water. Hydrogen peroxide can help with the bacteria. I would not save the water especially when this cutting is susceptible to rot. I would change it once a week.

    you have a root growing here, just be patient (: idk if that brown part is mushy, but if it is, maybe remove that part and separate the cuttings. the lower one is already growing so that should be fine (:
