First time propagating a pink nerve - fittiona. It was getting very leggy. I assumed a node was needed, but look...is this normal?

    I haven’t propagated a fittonia before specifically but this looks very normal to me based on all of my experience with all the other plants that I have propagated.

    Yes it is, but you should wait until the rod are a little longer to propagate

    OK - I'm so used to seeing roots grow from nodes and to see them grow out from the bottom of the cut and along the sides looked odd to me. But the leaves are doing great and no indication it's stressing out (just me worried) Thank you!

      The root nodes are separate from leaf nodes. They are just close to leaf nodes on many plants. Fleshy stem plants like coleus and tradescantia grow roots all along the stem. Plants like hoyas, queen of the night, and Christmas cactus can grow roots in several places. It gives them a better chance of survival when a piece breaks off and lands flat on the ground. 🪴🍀

    Yes, all of my pink nerve props have developed roots from both the node and the cut, but those need much longer in water before you pot them.
