Hey! Im a beginner planter, and my friend gave me two props she had to get me started, both are starting to grow new leaves, im just wondering when i should transfer them to a new pot? They seem to be doing well but im not sure what the timeline looks like for that kind of stuff

Maybe in a year or so? If you size up now they will be susceptible to overwatering and root rot.

To add to the other comment, generally when the time comes to repot, it’s nice if you can do it at a time when the plants are developing new leaves! It tends to mean they are better able to adjust to their new situation I think :) I also look at the type of plant - some love being cozy in a smaller pot, others want some extra breathing room. You’ll want to keep an eye out for soil that is super dense with roots - sometimes, roots coming out the drainage hole at the bottom can help indicate this, but roots can also easily just venture out there by chance, so don’t take it as a sure thing by any means! I’m definitely not an expert but hopefully that helps!

If you don’t like the look of plastic nursery pots you can always get a pot that the nursery pot fits in, just make sure when you water it you let it drain before putting it back in the decorative pot.
