Ok (please don’t come after me for my dirty screen) I wanted to try and propagate from my massive monstera so I clipped this little one out of the pot and put it in some rain water with a couple drops of Prop Drops. She has gave me 2 new baby leaves!!🍃 I’m so in love with herđŸ„° My question.. -when should I repot this little joy in her own pot?

I try my hardest to wait until there’s secondary roots!

I always wait for secondary roots. Then I pot up and keep the soil really moist for two weeks to help the plant transition from water to soil.

Always wait for secondary roots. With monsteras, it doesn’t take long. Also, if this was a baby in the pot, it may never mature into the monstera you’d like. I did the same and it never gave me a leaf bigger than my hand with no fenestration. Kept it for three years like that lol but still a cool, cute little plant!

Is that aloe in water on the right? I wasn’t aware one could do that đŸ€”

Yes. It is a climbing aloe or something. It broke off and I was seeing if I could get it grow roots as the other piece I put in soil died. đŸ€·đŸ»â€â™€ïž

I’ve read that the longer the cutting has been in water, the harder the transition to soil will be for it. I propagated 4 cuttings that I started in soil, and once they had a root that was about two inches long, I transferred them to soil with higher watering frequency that was slowly reduced over the first month. All 4 cuttings were successful this way.
