I started a monstera prop a bit ago and it has plenty of roots now so I could plant it but I kinda want to try just water. Do I literally just keep it in straight water? Any tips are helpful!

the problem with this is that eventually a monstera is just too big to sustain this way (or it just won’t ever reach its potential) semi hydro with pon or leca could provide a bit of a counter balance, but monstera really wants to root well and climb

0 J'aimeWhat are some good plants to try this with?
2 J'aimeif your aim is just to keep it green and not necessarily reach its monster capacity, keeping it like this is fine you’ll just want to add a few drops of liquid fertilizer every once in a while. very diluted. if you do decided to pot it up down the line after a while in water, you’ll want to do some research to avoid shocking /dehydrating the roots. good luck!
0 J'aimesyngonium and peace lily does well — i have a PL in water only, and a syngonium semi in leca. i also have a vase full of pothos cuttings in water for almost a year now — they don’t mind
