i came across good growing’s youtube & got a bit over zealous when i found out about pons, added some charcoal to avoid root rot😂 wasnt planning on finding a goldmine of corms but its exciting🫀

We’ve had some success throwing the corms in water first, and transferring it to soil only after it has multiple and even some secondary roots. When it comes to putting them in water — they do well if the shoots, which is the part from which leaves shoot out, is not submerged under water. It can be tricky to get them to stand up but it works well. Also recommend covering the box/pot of submerged corms with some cling foil/kitchen towels to retain moisture. Once you transfer them to soil, I’d recommend a clear pot so you can check on moisture/dryness levels. Goodluck!

I’ve had pretty good success with Lachuza Pon! I knew allocasias loooove pon, but I couldn’t get myself to bite the bullet and buy some until I had some corms. I definitely dont regret it! They’re doing awesome! I’ve got them in a prop container with a layer of pon that I keep pretty wet. They’re also on a seedling heat pad, which I think is helping a lot. And right by the window so they get tons of light. Good luck!!!

The stump behind it is a alocasia frydek that came in the mail frozen. So I chopped it down and it’s starting to grow again after just 4 days

Her leaves are so shiny. What do you use? My African mask is healthy but her leaves are dull.

I found this neem oil spray from urban scout (i think they have an ig account) i usually spray once a month…it really worked well for my monsteras, alocasia polly(i kinda got them used to a few hours of direct sunlight in the morning) philo squami, pink princess , pothos , fiddle leaf , nepethes, vft & pitchers (even with a lot of direct sunlight), but it was too strong for peperomia, stingray, silver dragon, philo gloriosum (found out the hard way, but to be fair they got sunburnt cause there was an unusual sunny few days and they were infront of an east facing window) Hope this helps 🫀
