My first ever propagation (Monstera) is thriving in water but I decided to try the perlite method for my second attempt (ps-there's an aerial root covered by perlite.) Any thoughts from those who've tried both ways?

Wow. Never tried perlite for propagation. I want to give it a try! Project for this week.

Let me know how it goes! I saw a TT where a guy did both side by side & the perlite roots were fatter and stronger. Remember to keep the bottom third of the substrate in water. I use H20 + prop drops & SuperThrive.

I recently propagated my Monstera cutting in perlite for the first time. One of the most nerve wrecking things I’ve done but hearing you say this makes me feel better about successful growth

I did not at all do it correctly. My monstera died. I will buy a new one, but not right now.

URG!!! I've had mixed experiences w/perlite prop. I ended up moving it out of perlite into water which has never failed me. Best of luck w/the new plant!
