I have 2 snake plant leaves from my grandma in water. She told me this is how to propagate them. Is this correct? They have been in water for 2-3 weeks, and I’m not seeing any roots, only discoloration and brown spots.

I have a snake plant in water that’s given me 5 babaies so far. this is hope you propagate them it just takes some time. Can we see what the bases of them look like?
0 Mi piaceYou can propagate in water. You should change the water weekly. And to be on the safe side I would use distilled water or rain water. You can also propagate a leaf cutting in soil. You would need to let the cut leaf dry for a day or two to call us off and then plant it in soil. I think this would be my preferred method.

I’ve propagated in water— it honestly took at least a month before I saw roots
1 mi piaceit looks like you have some rot at the bottom of the leaves. cut off the brown, squishy parts, and make an upside down v shape at the base. change water once every 4-5 days.
1 mi piaceI did this same thing, with the upside down V, and stuck it in a pot with soil. It took a long time, but now it’s thriving.
