I have this jasmine plant (star, I think?) outside my house. It was planted by the HOA before I bought it, (new build so they got fancy with their plants) and I wanted to know the best way to propagate this one. Itls it the normal cut above the leaf node put it in some fertilized water like normal or is there more to this one? The heat has already dried out the flowers that just bloomed on it but I'm in zone 9a so we get hot early. I want to container plant it and use it as privacy screening for my balcony. It's east facing, mostly sunny. I personally have better luck with water propagation then soil, but if one method is better I'll give it a go.

Wow! That was really nice. I got 2 or 3 crappy bushes. Bet you paid more for your house! Ha,ha! Look up on google or use this apps I’d plant section. Good luck!

It looks like star jasmine to me! I don’t think you should have an issue with water propping it. Imo I’d take the newer shoots though. I struggle with propagating woody stems in water

I have a couple cuttings of star jasmine from my yard that I’ve had in water for a few weeks now. No roots yet, but the leaves are still green. So I am hoping it just takes awhile. Here for the tips, too! Good luck!

I believe you're right about it being a star jasmine. You're cutting needs to be at least 6 in Long, it would be helpful to use rooting hormone and plant in a very well draining potting mix. Maybe get a good potting mix and add some sand and or perlite to increase drainage.
