Help! My money tree was dying. I got to save this piece but I do not have experience cutting plants to put in water and propagate. This is the set up I have it on and it is not doing well. What should I do??? Should I cut the droopy leaves? They are changing color and becoming thinner. Should I put it by the window? It might not be getting enough light.. should I let it callus before dropping in the brown balls… what do you call them? 😞
i propped my money tree in just straight water. take the most healthy leaves that has a node and pop it in some new water. give it some good sun. bright indirect light seems to work for me. it’ll take a few weeks to propagate but i think it might take better than your current setup. i wish you and your money plant the best !
3 gillningar Hi Jezzy tysm! Yeah I had a feeling that set up was not good… I changed a few things around. Would you please read the update and tell me if that’s okay? Also have it on an indirect grow light.
1 gilla UPDATE * My cousin mentioned that all cuttings must be at an angle, so I did that. Did not let it callous. I changed the balls for these smaller ones. Trimmed all the bad leaves bc it just felt like the right thing to do. And somewhere I read that adding a cutting of pothos helps… also on vitamin and fertilizer water. Please keep giving advice. I already lost a whole other money tree and I don’t want to lose this one.
So I have had the most luck with money tree props in this shaped vase. It was like 5$ at Target. This gives them room to lean naturally without it stopping or hurting root growth.
Also I use a propagation drop to help promote root growth
