Hey, just remembered I had this propagating. I took this cutting off my mums plant and I think I done something wrong. I watched a tutorial on how to cut and I’ve cut right above a node. Do I need to put more water? Do I need to cut some of the leaves? Did I fail and have to do it again? Please tell me a way I can save this

I’ve just read some of the comments on the video I’ve watched and they’ve all faulted and said to cut below the node :(

You cut away the node. The node is where the new roots would come out of. Maybe find what the next lowest node would be, cut below it, remove any leaves that you might have on that node, and put back into the water.

    Where is the recommended cutting?

I would probably remove the bottom three leaves. Cut them off as close to the stem as possible. Cut the green stem right around the red mark. That will leave you with a stem with two nodes. Sprinkle some cinammonn where you cut the stem (at the red mark). This will help keep bacteria out. Put back in water making sure that your two nodes are submerged under water. You will have two nodes where roots might possibly grow out of, increasing your chances of rooting.

Idk if this plant variety is any different, but addition to the above advice I’d say let the freshly cut end callous over before placing back in the water? That helps prevent rot, although cinnamon helps too!
