I’m a desert rat and I’m primarily familiar with cacti and succulents hahaha, but recently I was gifted a beautiful container for propagating, started sticking random plants in there and most of them died, but this one has flourished. I got a plant to propagate once before, but when I transferred it to the pot, it immediately died, so now I’ve just left this bad boy in the propagation tube because I am just too scared. What do I do now? With the last plant I followed Google to a T and I still ended up killing the plant. I would love to get this one potted so that I have space to attempt to propagate more plants.

Start with a small pot with plenty of bottom drainage. Put some good soil in the bottom, set the roots on the dirt and fill in around it. Give it a good water and set it near a window. I usually cut the top two to three leaves off so it will send off new shoots. When the shoots get long a chop and stick in the dirt. I don’t even bother water propping as they’ll root in the dirt. They are very easy to grow. Plenty of YouTube videos to show you too.

Thats a zebrina, those things looove sunlight! Its also likely to grow into a very very long vine. I would pinch it off once it becomes too much to handle. As for now, sphagnum moss. Its light and fluffy and holds water very well. Its your best bet if youre afraid of soil because a plant needs something to anchor to and grow real roots. And most importantly its like $5 for a brick of it.

That's a good plant to propagate! I've done mostly soil propagations but it's a fast grower(and really appreciates my grow lights). I have one pot that started as a stem smaller than yours and I just trim it, stick it back in the soil and keep repeating. Just make sure the soil doesn't get too dry the first week or two while it gets established
