Does anyone know what the best way to propagate a marble baby rubber plant is? I am trying to rescue the rest of the plant after its base started to rot. Any help is appreciated!

You might not need to propagate if you treat the root rot (if the rot has only started). You can remove all the soil and reduce the peperomia to its roots, cut the rotted roots as far up as possible, then soak the roots in a mixture of 1 part hydrogen peroxide and 2 parts water for 30 minutes, then rinse the roots off with water and gently dry them with a paper towel, then repot it in fresh, dry soil (I recently repotted my peperomia’s in Espoma’s Organic All-Purpose Soil Mix. Runs for about $5-7 where I live. I’ve also heard great things about Foxfarm’s Organic Ocean Soil All-Purpose Soil). The peroxide solution helps kill any bacteria from the root rot and helps promote root growth. You can add a few drops to the water the first time you water it after repotting to further promote the roots. Just don’t add it to the water after that once the plant shows signs that it’s recovering. Hope this helps!

To prevent any future rot, perhaps try bottom watering the plant and using a bamboo/barbecue skewer to check that the soil is dry before watering it. I wait about 9 days before watering my peperomia. If you haven’t tried bottom watering before, it’s very easy, helps prevent attracting fungus gnats to the top of the soil, and there’s plenty of short tutorials for it on YouTube.

My dog knocked mine off the shelf and broke it. I put the leaves in a pot and kept it moist and covered for about 2 weeks. After that I un covered it and just keep it moist ish for a few months. They have small roots that are growing pretty healthily.
