Hello! As a newbie I have a quick q about my spider plant which has recently shot out a stem of baby plants. How do I save the babies? Is it just a case of chopping the stem and popping them in water with a bit of food? Or is there a better way to grow the babies on?

You can just cut the little vine holding it once it has little roots and put it right into the soil. Good job on picking an easy plant to take care of.😁

Thanks - I have a couple of plants to repot (including a monster trailing fern) so I will add these to the list 😊

you can leave them for quite a while! like the last commenter said wait at least until there are roots, but you can leave them pretty much indefinitely

Are these the roots you’re talking about? So when these occur you can cut and put straight into soil?

yup! you can also stick them in some water to encourage them to grow more, but they’re designed to creep along the ground and root, so right into soil works
