I have these succulents + some lucky bamboo propagating in water. Does anybody know when I should move the succulents into soil or can they be left in water for the long-term? Some of them already have roots and seem to be growing. I have some string of bananas, string of pearls, string of dolphins, and burro's-tail. Same question for lucky bamboo but I'm not as concerned about that one since I know they can grow in water.

I can’t speak to the “strings” but the burro’s tail can just be stuck in a well draining succulent soil as is. You don’t need roots on it and water propagating may actually prevent roots as they typically create roots to search for water. Just put the stem in the soil and don’t overwater it. Many succulents root best like this (Echeveria, sedums, snakes, etc)

strings-of-things are not quite succulents, most are more like pepperomias. they can actually be put in soil from the start. those look all good for planting to me

Thanks! Do I need to dry out the roots first? I heard that water roots are more sensitive compared to soil roots so they might break when planting in soil

i never have personally. if you hover them a little bit above the soil and backfill instead of shoving the cutting in there it'll prevent breakage.
