Today I was given a cutting of a Vick’s plant from my physical therapist! Am I able to propagate this in water? She told me I could but when I googled it to get some more info I only saw info about propping in soil. Also, I don’t see a node but am unfamiliar with the plant so maybe I’m just missing it. In the pic you’ll see a couple dark spots but those are just where she had me pluck the bottom leaves

The node is where the leaf branches off from the stem - your PT had you remove the bottom leaves to expose the nodes so the cutting can sprout roots from them

      That makes sense, thank you!

You can propagate them in water. Removing the leaves that will be submerged will prevent them from rotting and contaminating the water. The roots will grow near the cut end. They will grow further up the stem if left in water long enough. Keep it in bright indirect light while propagating. It’s a succulent that does well in a fast draining succulent soil mix. The potted plant thrives in full sun. The rooted cutting needs to slowly acclimate to full sun.

I have one and I just cut them and put them back in the dirt. I’ve tried water and it didn’t work well. Just ouch it in dirt and it’ll go 🥰
