You know what will provide a proper dose of serotonin? Coming home to see your basil seedlings are starting to pop up! This is my first time trying to sow using a plain ole potting mix, and seeds from a packet (previously used “smart garden” kits) Do you have any advice on soil mixes you’ve used that you like, or any recommendations for ratios when mixing your own? Also, would love to hear about your favorite plants to grow from seeds! I plan to sow again soon and would like to experiment with various seeds and setups ^_^

    my favorite plant is swamp milkweed. It grows very fast and has beautiful bright pink blooms. I started to fall in love when i was a local butterfly keeper at a conservatory/zoo. But i also enjoy dill and mini cucumbers. The mini cucumbers are fast growing and extremely hardy plants.

      Thanks for sharing!! I will check into those and get some seeds ^_^ There’s a lil cucamelon that has volunteered to grow in my backyard that I want to get a cutting or seeds from this year. I think it would go great with some dill and mini cucumber!

      i’ve been waiting for my local place to put out cucamelon seedlings! that’s awesome i hope it goes well, dill and swamp milkweed will attract monarchs and swallowtails, they will help pollinate your garden!
