Help! In cleaning off some mites from my Chinese Evergreen Pink Siam this morning, I accidentally broke this entire stem 😩 Is there any hope for propagating it? I’m not sure that I see any nodes on it.

Pull off 2-3 leaves and pop it in water. Each leaf had a node.

0 likesYes, I think it's worth a try. To avoid root rot when propagating in water make sure none of the leaves are in the water, freshen the water often, at least once a week, and keep it out of heat sources like strong sun or by a heater. Warm water breeds bacteria. You could also dip the cut end for 10 seconds into a hydrogen peroxide solution. With a 3% hydrogen peroxide use one part hydrogen peroxide to one part water. If the hydrogen peroxide is 6% use one part hydrogen peroxide and two parts water. I would do this every time you change the water.
