Propagating some ZZ, branches and water, but it looks like the leaves are fading in color. Is it getting too much light? I have a grow light nearby?

The fading reminds me of what a leave does when it’s dying. How long has it been in water and has it grown any roots? Sometimes when props aren’t successful they die! But it could be something else as well, def not an expert!

No root, I’ve heard it takes a long time to root.🤍🪴

Okay yeah so not terribly long! I’d keep giving it time and maybe you can adjust how close it is to the grow light and see if that keeps it from getting worse! It might continue to yellow and you may loose those leaves or the whole cutting, but definitely something to keep an eye on!

I believe it’s a good 2 months before you can expect to see any root growth.

i usually remove those lower leaves when propagating zz from a stem, so i’m not too sure. but it’ll still grow roots in time (: i would just remove those leaves maybe.
