   No, you cant put it in water and get roots so of what I know of, no there's no other way

   i think you will have to put it in soil and hope it propagates and a baby starts growing after it is completely dead... i had one that was struggling and water kept it alive but it started rotting so maybe try soil?? good luck 😭
