I received my monstera albo cutting in the mail today. 🥲 It had root rot, and it extends to the other side of the node. The leaf and stems look okay. I used sterilized clippers to trim the rot and I placed it back in water, I salvaged the node but not the root. Is this my best shot? Any tips at all???

The cutting was wrapped in sphagum for shipping, but was rooted in water by the seller.

It looks like the root was an arial root that was then put in water. From what I understand the arial roots should be trimmed before propagating in water and new roots should grow from the trimmed arial root.

Okay, I trimmed off that entire piece off because it basically sloughed anyway. Thank you for the advice I’ll keep my hopes up ❤️

I think that was the right move! Hopefully you will get some new roots growing!
