Jade Propagations :)
Jade Propagations :)
So you don’t have to push them into soil? How long until new plants come?
1 gillaNope! Usually a few weeks and they’ll start to root
1 gillaThey poke themselves down by themselves? I’m so confused about propogating when there are no nodes
1 gillaThey create tiny plants where the stem ends!
0 gillningarYeah! These are very prolific. They’ll root themselves quite effectively!
2 gillningarCan you post progress pics? I’ve only propagated jade by nodes, not leaves!
1 gillaYes please do
1 gillaTabi, will this do? Does it matter which side of the leaf is facing the soil? Hump up or hump down (hump = slightly rounded part of leaf). I did hump up
1 gillaLooks perfect!!!
0 gillningarShould I keep the soil wet/damp/moist at all times or what?
1 gillaDoesn’t matter! Either way they will root and should start reaching downward. Even if the roots are reaching up for some reason you can always flip it over so they’re going toward the soil.
1 gillaDidn’t know you can do it without water!
1 gillaAbsolutely!! <3
1 gillaMy kids broke my jade plant last year and all the leaves fell off. I’ve had many pots of jade plant propagations going on since then. Here’s a look at what they do (it’s taken a long time). Also spot the two pieces of Aloe Vera that my kids broke off at the weekend 🙄 🤦‍♀️
3 gillningarHahaha I love it!!
0 gillningarThis little piece is a branch that broke off (long before this recent major hack) and fell to the soil and rooted itself sideways. Sometimes the branches just send out roots into the air for fun lol Cait2k3!is going to have more plants than she knows what to do with at this rate!
1 gillaLOL absolutely I agree!
1 gillaThat’s so cool!
