I’ve had this prayer plant cutting in water for 3-ish weeks now, and I keep it under a bigger glass jar for added humidity (still with access to fresh air). Node is maybe 1/2” above cut line. As you can see, no roots yet. What am I missing here? Or is this a normal timeline?

Some plants just take longer. I use prop drops to help root growth along. Like above said, it will need a node under water to grow roots ideally. It's hard to tell from the pic. I have a few Hoya cuttings that have been in prop for 2-3 weeks and they have less than 1/2" roots. Where others already have 1-2" roots.

The leaves look beautiful. The energy could be going into the leaves and leaf stems. This might sound radical, but, I would cut off a leaf. I usually only keep one leaf per node on a cutting. A warmer location is better than a cold one when propagating cuttings. You already have the humidity covered. Bright indirect light or a grow light for 12 hours help a lot. 🍀🪴
