Question about Snake Plant baby: I just noticed my lovely Snake Plant is growing a little baby under her leaves (don’t mind the brown spots on mama, those were there when I rescued her from the clearance section). This is my first Snake Plant, & I am unsure if I should plan on separating the two once the baby is larger, or if they will just grow in harmony together. I am not planning on doing anything yet, I want to see what happens as the little one gets larger, just wanted to be proactive & ask now. Edit: if it was a tall/upright Snake Plant, I would just let it happen as that would make it fuller, but since this one’s leaves spread wider, I am unsure. Thanks!

Personally, I would separate them once it gets bigger, for a couple reasons. 1) The little one may not get enough light as it will be partially hidden under the leaves of the mother plant. I could be wrong about this, but that’s what I think. 2) TWO snake plants. :)

      1) I was also concerned about light & also crowding. 2) 😂 Yes; true!

I have a similarly shaped plant (star plant) and am planning on separating mine once my baby gets to be a decent size. To answer your question though, they can definitely live in harmony it’ll just need extra fertilizer. (: it’ll come down to your preference for the look

My baby is in the middle of mama, would you still separate them or let baby grow and mama together?

I have the same thing happening and I am keeping them together because I sm afraid to break apart.

I was too, keeping them together is great, mamma lost a leave but baby is growing beautifully!
