I would love to learn how to take a cutting and start a new. Brand new to it all so all recommendations and info would be greatly appreciated ☺️

    I believe for those you cut a strand and then put it into the correct soil and it should grow roots!

    Mine was dying so I just cut a load of healthy looking strands off from random points, put them in water, and they’ve all grown roots :)

      My local plant shop always has the healthiest ones for $5! I’m trying some other “string” plants now to see how I do

    If it were me I would get a small pot, lay it on one of the spots with no growth in the current pot. I would fill it with soil and then place a strand or two of the current pearls over the top of it to root in soil. When it was established enough, I would cut the rooted pearls away from the mother plant and move forward…

    If that was my string of peas, I would take some or all of those strands and loop them back onto the soil in the center of the pot. Let it root in and fill up the whole pot with little peas before letting it trail down. It looks nicer that way

    Super easy. I did it multiple times to gift this plant to friends. I just cut off a healthy looking strand (about 6 inches long). I lay it out in a circle on top of my regular chunky mix in a terracotta pot( I think any pot would do), then I spray the surface with water. Make sure the pearls are touching the soil. I also like sprinkle a thin layer of soil on top after laying down the cutting. Nothing too much, dont cover the whole cutting. Then the first 2 weeks I just mist the top layer with water daily. You will know when it starts taking roots, small new growth will start coming out. You can continue to spray water on surface until there are more growth(means more roots under by then). I placed mine in mg kitchen window, so the moisture dries up fast, after 2 weeks I start watering it like a normal plant, and ads water when the pot feels light. I also make sure the not let the top layer get too dry because the new roots are still trying to develop. And I think each time it took about a month to have an actively growing new plant.
