The mother of thousands I just bought isn’t doing well so I want to chop and prop. Can I prop a top cut in water or where do I cut for water props?? Thanks!

Did you repot? The pot looks too big for her. You may be able to revive her in her current state by providing her a more appropriately sized pot with well draining soil, and make sure she’s getting plenty of bright sunlight, they need a lot. If you take a cutting you’ll need to let the cutting sit for a day or two to form a callous over the cut before attempting to root, otherwise it’ll rot. Succulents are tricky to water prop and typically do better straight to soil. Regardless, be sure to cut below a node as new roots will form from the node. It looks like she has a few pups, that’s the easiest form of propagation for these plants. Good luck!
0 LikesYou know, she was quickly repotted by the guy i bought her from. I was interested in her but she was potted up with another plant and I don’t like my plants mixed so I declined. Suddenly the man reappeared with her potted solo so I took her home. I think the repotting shock and move is probably the cause. I will repot her in a smaller pot tonight and I already took all the babies she had a couple days ago and put them on top of moist soil covered in Saran Wrap
