Is my spider plant clipping ready to be transferred to soil? It’s my first time and I’m not sure. Any advice is appreciated!❤️

    My general rule of thumb for props is waiting at least 2-3” (5-7 cm) for the roots to grow. Base on your photo, it looks like it just may be ready to pot it!

    you can plant spider pups in soil whenever. just make sure the soil stays moist for a few days (i like to give them a good soak on day one), then slowly back off watering, and you’ll be good

      this is a great choice of vessel for spider plant props by the way, they grow well when supported just above the waterline like so. and it looks like it has very healthy roots

    spider pups are very hardy and this one could probably be transferred to soil now. personally i always like to give my props more time to root, it's much easier to propagate a few weeks longer so the plant has a better root system than having to re-prop a failed soil transfer. even for spider pups i prefer to wait to pot in soil until the roots are branching. good luck whatever you decide to do with this baby!
