Is it normal to have a prop go limp after it’s removed from a humidity dome even though it has a good root with secondaries? The other two polka dot plant props in the same cut are fine this guy just went limp on me. And when I put the humidity dome back on, he perked back up. So I took it off again thinking maybe he was just disturbed from me refilling the water. (His root is about 3-4” was waiting for their secondaries to come in a bit more before transferring to soil) Will he survive?

yes most likely - these guys are dramatic and will take a little bit to readjust to regular humidity levels :)

Ooooh ok. Good to know thank you! I knew the plant was picky but didn’t think the props would be also. Thanks!!

Very common. If i have something under dome I will crack the dome slightly for a week, then fully open the vent for a week, then dome off during the day for a week, then dome off. This usually happens because plants in high humidity have less of the waxy layer on them, that prevents transpiration. You can give them an artificial one, with products like Wilt Stop. If you don't want to wait so long to remove them from the dome/cloche

Ahhh ok that makes sense. Thanks! I usually crack the lid on my prop box but didn’t think to open the ziplock on this guy for some reason. I’ll put this guy under the zip lock but not seal it up good around the edge of the glass so it can step down its humidity better.
