Hi all, I posted a while ago about my guzmania. I was advised to wait for the flower to die before removing the pups, but the pups are getting big and the flower is showing no signs of dying- any advice? Previous post screenshot attached and new pic of the plant and pups also. TIA! 🪴
I don't grow these so take this with a grain of salt, but: I remember when my dad grew these that he'd let the pups get pretty big before removing them, like half the size of the mother plant, or until they ran out of room in the pot haha. I hope someone with more expertise can advise you more specifically!

i don't have experience with these in particular, but have several pupping plants. these do look of good size, but if it's winter where you are, don't repot yet. you'll have a much bigger chance of success if you do it while it's warm out.
1 likeI have a friend who grows these and gifted me a couple neoregelia pups. Based on the size of the pups compared to how big they can get, I'd say your pups can be separated now. Warmer temperatures will help them thrive, but you can do it any time
