My rubber plant wasnāt doing well and when Iāve gone to check the roots itās popped right out of the pot and when running under water to see whatās happening Iāve got this left. I donāt want to put it back in soil as I wonāt see if itās growing roots so I want to know how itāll do in water? Any tips/advice welcome.
I would cut above the roots, let it harden for a day or two, and then put into water. Make sure youāve got a few nodes on the stem.

Yup! You can usually feel nodes along those rings on the stem. As long as you cut off anything mushy/rotten and have healthy tissue at the end you should be good :) You can also remove the lowest leaf to give yourself a few more nodes under the water to produce roots if you want. Just make sure it has at least 2-3 leaves left.

0 gillningarYou can definitely try that!! Water roots and soil roots are different. So if you notice ANY decline in their quality Iād chop them asap and start fresh :)

I think thats probably your best bet. But do what you feel comfortable doing! Plants are an ever evolving experiment :)
