Been trying to propagate clippings of my snake plant (since the bottoms of the plants have been blistering with water from the bottom of the leaves) so I chopped the healthy tips off but as they sit in the water(and rooting hormone) they are soaking up water. Any tips? I tried letting them callus for a week as well. Too much water? Should I just try to plant directly in dirt?

these guys take super long to prop, but apparently perlite works the best - Plants with Krystal has her findings with snake plant props on youtube, i recommend checking them out! good luck!!

Cutting a V shape on the bottom of the leaf will help it root better!

Making a V-cut, letting that callus & adding a pothos cutting helps it speed up the process a bit. The pothos stimulates root growth naturally. It generally takes snake plants pretty long to show any signs root growth.

I cut a V, put it in direct sun. It several weeks & out of the 3 I cut only 1 rooted. It’s in soil now & has a baby!

Try cutting a V shape, but inward from the bottom up, at the bottom of the cuttings. Like this “/\”

I just cut mine in a V shape with the widest points at the bottom. Stick them in dirt, keep it moist and BE PATIENT lol. It takes awhile but it’ll root
