Every time I try to propagate (this is a philodendron Brasil) the ends turn yellow and never root. What am I doing wrong?? Those are aerial roots that had already grown when I cut it

Do you let it calous over?
0 J'aimeNo, I've been told it'll wilt but I could try maybe
0 J'aimeHow long is it and how many leaves? Long stems and too many leaves can slow root growth. Low light can turn it yellow and delay root development. A hydrogen peroxide rinse can disinfect the new cuttings. 🍀🪴
2 J'aime3-4 inches with 1-2 leaves. It sitting directly in an east facing window and there is hydrogen peroxide in it
1 j'aimeI want to assume it's too much hydrogen peroxide. I don't like to mix it in with props, but Ik some add it sparingly to water for plants in soil to oxygenate it and kill fungus gnats. Possibly a burn from it. Sometimes I'll do straight water or even a dash of some plant food.
3 J'aimeWell, it doesn’t seem to be cutting length or number of leaves casing the problem. I have to agree that leaving hydrogen peroxide in water is not really necessary. Especially, for that amount of water. I recommend leaving it out, just to remove one variable, and clean the container more often.
1 j'aimeIt has been rotting like this even before I ever added hydrogen peroxide so that's not it...
1 j'aimeI'd cut a new one, spray with 1:3 peroxide dilution, let it callus over night. Then put it in distilled water with IBA (rooting powder, or drops like Prop Drops, DipNGrow). And only cover the node with water. It's a b**ch cuz you have to keep it topped off more often. But it helps alleviate rot. And change the water out every week with distilled. And you can reapply the IBA then too.
4 J'aimeAlso water the mother the day before you prop. It will help with wilting, and how well the prop does too
3 J'aimeJust make sure you clean whatever tool you are using to cut the material you are propagating and let it callus at least 24 hours just so it dries out a bit
