I repotted a Hoya Parasitica Splash from sphagnum moss to a home blended mix. The moss had soured with a few rotting roots that gave off a swampy rancid mud smell. It too a little effort with tweezers to remove the rot and all the moss. I don’t precisely measure each ingredient. I aim to get a mix that drains very well. I tend to use smaller size particles for small rooted cuttings. This combination contains coco coir, pumice left over from repotting cacti, worm castings, perlite, and orchid bark chips. I don’t use peat moss.

Thank you! I love the look and feel of this hoya. The leaves are shiny and stiff like they are coated in clear nail polish shortly after emerging. So, it doesn’t need a lot of water even when young.
